- 1.1 cup brown rice
- 2.1 lb ground turkey
- 3.1 tbsp coconut oil
- 4.1 large egg
- 5.1/2 cup carrots chopped
- 6.1/2 cup spinach chopped
- 7.1/2 tsp turmeric optional, for anti-inflammatory benefits
- 8.3 cups water
Cook the Rice: In a medium pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add the brown rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes until tender.
Prepare the Protein: While the rice is cooking, heat the coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until no longer pink, breaking it up as it cooks (about 7-8 minutes).
Add the Veggies: Stir in the chopped carrots and spinach. Cook for another 3 minutes until softened.
Incorporate the Egg: Crack the egg directly into the pan, stirring quickly to cook it evenly.
Combine Everything: Once the rice is done, add it to the turkey and veggie mixture. Sprinkle in the turmeric and mix well.
Cool Before Serving: Let the food cool to room temperature before serving it to your pup.
